Setser Competes in Wayne County Speedway Doubleheader
Gunnar Setser trekked to Wayne County Speedway (Wayne City, Ill.) over the weekend for an Outlaw Non-Winged Micro Sprint doubleheader.
The 2022 edition of the Jason Leffler Memorial took center stage on Friday night with 56 entries in the pit area. Gunnar raced to a third-place finish in his heat race aboard his No. G5.
His heat race finish relegated him to a B-Main, where he recorded a fourth-place finish. Unfortunately with only the Top-3 finishers moving onto the feature his night came to an early end.
On Saturday night the team regrouped as the Dan Robinson Memorial was held. Gunnar rocketed from the ninth-starting spot to a third-place finish in his heat race to lock into the pole-sitter's dash.
After finishing fourth in the dash Gunnar earned the fourth-starting spot for the 40-lap finale. He battled in the Top 10 throughout the feature to notch a seventh-place finish.
